MY LOCKDOWN GARDEN, MY MICROCOSM, MY UNIVERSE

During lockdown, due to the Coronavirus outbreak, I spent a lot of time at home in my flat and in my small garden in London. I suddenly had the time to watch each little flower grow and every leaf unfold – and I spent much more time than ever before washing my hands, my food and, for the first time, my photographs. I applied all the different sanitizers and cleaning products to my images that I had used in my house in those last few months – and the results are photographs, which perfectly encapsulate my life during this time … they show not just my garden but also the smallness and the detail of life and at the same time its vastness, as if seeing the world from a great distance. There are cracks and scratches, which I felt appear in myself at times and unexpected colours and patterns I had never noticed before.
