Hassan, 11, lives in Jambiani, on the East coast of Zanzibar. He cleaning fish that his dad Kiru has caught this morning. He often helps his dad after school or in the holidays. When he grows up, he wants to be a fisherman like his dad. “My favourite fish is octopus. It’s nice to eat. I have caught octopus myself before, and parrot fish. … I like Jambiani. It’s a nice place to live. I live here with my parents and my two sisters and my brother. They are older than me.”
The next day his mother gave birth to a little baby girl, so he now has a younger sister as well.
